New to Pages and having a heck of a time with something that should be simple. I highlighted text in a document (not in a comment), using the Insert/Highlight menu command after being unable to find something similar to Word's highlight tool. After doing quite a bit of work with the doc, I decided I wanted to unhighlight some of the passages, but can't find a toggle-back-to-unhighlighted kind of function. I don't want to go through multiple steps to do something that should be easy.
One uneasy workaround I found is to copy/cut the highlighted text, then "paste and match style" it into another section of my document between unhighlighted text, then re-copy and repaste the now-unhighlighted text back where I want it. But this is waaay too many steps. Sheesh.
Saw another comment similar to mine and a responder recommended going into the instructional manual for Pages. I did so but there was a paragraph with multiple steps explaining how to unhighlight text. I tried following the steps but got confused and gave up. I'm busy, I'm in a hurry, I want to find something that works as easily as Word's highlight tool. Can't believe this doesn't exist in Pages, which so far has been nice to work with, other than this problem.

Me too (4) Me too Me too (4) Me too ReplyHow to highlight multiple segments of text (in PAGES) without repeatedly going back to the "more text options" button in pages? I do research, and it's very helpful for me to highlight text in PAGES documents. But there this requires multiple steps, and there is an awkward problem I want to solve. Here's what I've been doing: 1) I highlight the text. 2) I go to the format side-bar and click the gear noted as "More Text Options" (it was called something else in earlier versions of PAGES) 3) A drop-down menu appears, and I go to "text background” and click on two palette options. 4) A “Color” window appears, and I click on a color (usually yellow) Now here’s the problem, after clicking the color the “Color” window remains on my screen, and that's fine—But, if I highlight a second bit of text, it seems logical that I could use the “Color” window and click on yellow again to highlight the text background… But, it changes the color of the text, NOT the background. I need to close the “Color” window and start all over. This is terribly frustrating, and involves repeating multiple steps. QUESTION: Is there a solution to this? Thank you, Mike I'm using PAGES version 12.2
In Pages, can we highlight multiple, separate lines of text? In Pages, working with text, is there any way to highlight multiple yet separate lines of text? Yes, I know, with subtitles, for example, you can change the formatting and thus change them all. But, what if it is better not to use those functions, and you just want to highlight some text here, then there, then somewhere else and change them all at the same time. A previous discussion, now closed, said that this option, like holding the shift key when selecting multiple highlights, was deleted from Pages a few years ago, never to return. Is that truly the case? If so, the Pages programmers have missed a very nice, easy to use feature, forcing us into the subtitle vs. body, vs. caption mode to try to change more than one thing at a time. Wouldn't shift/highlight be so much easier for so many uses?
I want to add text highlight feature in pages to toolbar Hi, I am reading a book in pages and I want to highlight some text with ease and want to add the text Highlight feature to toolbar but I don't see any of the format options in there?
